LOCAL CHEFS AND FARMERS STIR IT UP FOR
LOWCOUNTRY LOCAL FIRST’S
4th ANNUAL CHEF’S POTLUCK
SUNDAY APRIL 17TH
In an effort to raise awareness about the important role local agriculture plays in sustaining our community and livelihood, Lowcountry Local First (LLF) is hosting the 4th Annual Chef’s Potluck on Sunday, April 17th, 2011. The festivities will take place from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Pavilion at Middleton Place. Top chefs from area restaurants will be preparing dishes using local produce, meats and seafood provided by Lowcountry growers and producers.
The evening will feature live music, local beer from COAST, a local cocktail with FireFly,a smorgasbord of delicious treats, the finalist of the BB&T Wine + Food Festival and Lowcountry Local First Food Innovator Award, as well as a silent auction of wares from local businesses. Participating restaurants include Cru Cafe, Duvall Catering and Events, EVO, Fig, Fish, Glass Onion, Poe’s Tavern, Poogan's Porch, Maverick Southern Kitchens, Roti Rolls and Social Wine Bar to name a few. Other participants include Giddy Goat Cheese, Island Coffee, Charleston Cookie Company and ROOTS Ice cream!
* Tickets at the door are $65. Tickets price includes admission to the grounds at Middleton Place, all food, drinks and entertainment. Bring extra cash for the fabulous silent auction, and your Local t-shirt!
Proceeds will support Lowcountry Local First’s Sustainable Agriculture Initiative, which is in the second year of the Growing New Farmers Incubator Program to train the next generation of growers and local food leaders.
